About The Show

Set across 50 acres in the beautiful surroundings of Castlewellan Forest Park, Castlewellan Agricultural Show always takes place from 9am – 6pm on the first Saturday after the 12th of July each year.

Featuring classes for cattle, sheep, goats, horses, ponies, donkeys poultry, pigs, rabbits, dog agility and home industries.  A wide range of trade stands, food and craft producers showcase their wares alongside live music, vintage tractors, carriage driving, demonstrations of countryside pursuits, Young Farmers competitions, pet show, fashion tent, vintage tea tent and children’s amusements which will entertain all day long.

The Show is organised by an enthusiastic committee and we are keen to welcome visitors from towns and cities to profile all the countryside has to offer. We have lots for children and young people to do and see with those of primary school age admitted free of charge.

Car parking is free.

Traffic & Parking

With the weather forecast so good, we are expecting large numbers and we don't want people sitting in their cars too long waiting to get in.

There is free parking on site but in order to keep the traffic moving we are asking people to use a variety of routes into the park

From Ballynahinch side, you can take the Drumbuck Rd

From Banbridge side, you can divert off the main Banbridge - Castlewellan Rd about 2 miles before Castlewellan towards Leitrim (there will be signs).

If you can get a car parking space in Castlewellan town, recommend taking it and walking into the field.

Due to the large number of traders, only blue badge holders and cars with livestock trailers or those entering dog agility will be allowed onto the field.

People can unload entries for home industries, but must then move your car to one of the parking areas

All those with horses, ponies and donkeys should come in by Maginns gate
